College & Career Fairs – Connecting Students to Their Futures
Anderson High School ensures students are prepared for life after graduation by providing meaningful opportunities to explore STEM careers, training pathways, and post-secondary options. Each year, the school hosts two College & Career Fair events, bringing together over 100 representatives from local industries, universities, technical programs, and community organizations.
During these events, students engage directly with professionals in fields such as engineering, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, computer science, welding, public service, automotive technology, and more. They learn about career pathways, job expectations, apprenticeship programs, degree options, and workforce trends.
To ensure every student benefits, AHS requires students to attend at least two College & Career Fairs by the end of their junior year. This guarantees that all learners, not just those who seek out opportunities, gain exposure to the wide range of STEM careers available to them.

Literacy & STEM Family Nights – Learning Together Through Play & Exploration
Students in the TribeCast Broadcasting course at Anderson High School gain real-world experience by fully running the school’s broadcast media studio. From planning and scriptwriting to filming, interviewing, editing, and publishing, students carry out every role in the production process, building professional communication and technical skills along the way.
TribeCast operates a student-managed YouTube channel, where students produce episodes that connect directly with current events and the community. For example, during an election year, students researched public issues and conducted on-camera interviews with local Congressional candidates and community leaders. These experiences teach students how to ask meaningful questions, prepare for interviews, manage recording equipment, and work collaboratively under deadlines.
Through authentic storytelling and media production, students develop confidence, digital literacy, public speaking, and project management while gaining insight into potential careers in marketing, journalism, broadcasting, media production, and public communications.

Real-World STEM Learning Through Community Partnerships
Anderson High School offers a robust sequence of Project Lead The Way (PLTW) courses that allow students to explore career interests, develop practical skills, and discover their strengths as they prepare for life after graduation. Students can choose from PLTW Principles of Biomedical Sciences, PLTW Principles of Engineering, PLTW Introduction to Engineering Design, PLTW Aerospace Engineering, and PLTW Principles of Human Body Systems. Each provides hands-on learning connected to real STEM careers.
Across these courses, students engage in authentic, industry-aligned experiences: designing and testing prototypes, conducting biomedical investigations, modeling in 3D design software, analyzing complex systems, problem-solving as engineering teams, and applying the Engineering Design Process to real-world challenges. Each course includes resume-ready technical skills such as CAD modeling, biomedical diagnostics, aerospace system analysis, circuitry, data analysis, and scientific communication which are skills used by STEM professionals every day.
Most importantly, PLTW coursework empowers students to explore future pathways with purpose. Whether students are drawn to healthcare, engineering, research, manufacturing, aviation, technology, or other STEM fields, PLTW helps them identify interests, build confidence, and make informed decisions about their postsecondary and career goals.
